Dr. Josh R. Novak, LMFT-S (he/him/his)Josh considers it a huge privilege to learn from his clients and hear their stories. He has an infectious passion for change, growth, and the value of relationships and therapy. He uses his good sense of humor, his love for neuroscience, and his no-BS attitude to help clients achieve their goals.
Josh has been a clinician for 12 years and a researcher and educator for more than 5 years. He has had a variety of clinical experiences in the juvenile justice system, university-based clinics, and agency and private practice settings with people from all different backgrounds and experiences. He distills all of this knowledge and expertise to tailor-fit to each individual client and combines his love for research and uses "data" in therapy to ensure successful outcomes. Josh received his Bachelors of Psychology from Anderson University, his Master's from Texas Tech University, and his PhD from BYU before continuing on for a postdoctoral fellowship at Kansas State University. He previously taught at Utah State University in the Marriage and Family Therapy program before moving to Auburn's Marriage and Family Therapy program. Josh is originally from Chicago, IL, and enjoys all forms of physical activity (an avid gym nut), loves the outdoors, and if he wasn't doing therapy or academia, his dream job would be a chef/baker.
